Author To Visit BCS
Bowdoin Central School will be hosting Margy Burns Knight, an author, and her illustrator, Anne Sibley O’Brien on Thursday, March 4; with a snow date on Thursday, March 11.  This is the kick-off for our Celebration of Learning at the end of the year which will feature walls about which Ms Knight and Ms O’Brien have created two books.  There will be an assembly in the morning and our presenters will stay to work with students throughout the day.  Ms. Knight will work primarily with the older students and Ms O’Brien with the younger children.  During the lunch hour and after school there will be opportunities to buy their books and to have them autographed.  A price list and order form will be sent home.  As always, parents are welcome to attend.

Calling All Kindergartners
We are continuing to compile a list of students who will attend kindergarten this Fall.  If your son or daughter will be five, on or before Oct. 15, 2010, please call the school and speak with Ms. Mayo.  If you know of a neighbor, relative or someone else in Bowdoin (who might not get this newsletter and has a child in this age range), please let them know we are looking for them.  This information is very important as we are now making budget decisions for next year and need to adequately plan for our kindergarten program.
