Why are we here”? I asked my mom. “It’s a surprise,” she whispered. It turns out we were going to get two kittens at an apartment in Lewiston that had at least 20 kittens and one mom cat.
We placed the kittens the lady chose for us in our cage and brought them home. We set the cage on the living room floor. The first one that came out of the cage was a kitten that was mostly black and had white on his chest. The second one didn’t come out for awhile, so I had to get him out of the cage so he could get used to my house. He was half black and half white. As soon as he came out, his brother was there and they started playing and scratching with each other.
As the next couple of days passed we began to think of names for the new kittens. We named the mostly black one Yugi and the other one Jr.

My mom, dad, and I decided to call Yugi Yugi after the main character of a T.V. show we used to watch. We decided to call Jr. Jr. after my dad’s favorite Nascar driver.
The bad thing about getting the kittens is all of the chores that I have to do. I have to wash and fill their water dish. I also have to fill their food dish and clean their litter box. But I do it anyway and after I’m done, I get to play with them by dragging a string around. They chase it and try to snatch it. It’s really fun.
They both sleep on my bed and I like that.
Yugi and Jr. are quite different. For instance Yugi is a little bigger than Jr. and wants attention all of the time. When you want to pick up Jr. he just takes it, but Yugi does not like to be picked up.
It felt good having more cats to add to our family because my other cat had died a couple months before. I think it’s nice having more cats to play with.
