Can You Find My Woodchip?
Students in Mrs. Cason's fourth grade class
collected woodchips and then did a descriptive writing about them. We
had fun trying to identify everybody's chip. Now it's your turn.
Below the picture of the chips are the students' names. Click on a
name to read his/her description and then see if you can find the
woodchip. Good luck! (For size reference, number 9 is about nine
inches long.)

My wood chip is 7
in. long. It is brown. It is shaped like a board. It is not splinter
proof. It is hard and bumpy. It doesn't stand very well. Both top and

table. It's about three inches long. the color of my wood chip is
gray. It's about as wide as a unifix cube. It's in the shape of
Tennessee or Nebraska depending on which way it is turned. It has a

like an ax. The long part is curved. It's five inches long, which is
as big as my highlighter. On one side of the short part it is sharper
than the other side. The thickest part is where the small part joins
the big part. It is rough where it slopes down to the sharp edge. It
