Science
Mr. Howe’s Science Philosophy: I believe by human nature that all people are natural scientists as we are inquisitive, seek to classify things by likes and differences, and natural experimenters when it comes to problem solving. Science is very much a part of our daily lives from everyday occurrences like getting shocked when touching a doorknob to looking at the lasting impact we are having on our environment. Every student has a chance to get hands on experiences in our science class through cooperative lab work, reflective questioning and data collection / analysis. Fifth Grade science is a joy to teach as the kids love discovering new things. My job is to help them channel and organize that excitement to our learning objectives.
