March News and Events

Report Card Conferences in March
Your child’s teacher will be setting up conferences to go over the progress of your child.  It is important to have time to sit down and talk about progress and discuss any accomplishments, next steps, or concerns.
When you come to your conference, please come with any questions you have and be sure to ask them.  You are an important link in your child’s success in school.

Kindergarten 2010-2011
We are still trying to firm up our numbers for those students entering Kindergarten in the fall.  If you have a child who will be five on or before October 15, he/she will be eligible to attend school.  If you plan to send your child, and you haven’t contacted us, please do so as soon as possible (WHS 833-2956 and HIS 729-5177).  Please do not assume that we know about your child.  If you have a friend (or neighbor) that has a child who will be attending Kindergarten in the fall, and doesn’t get this newsletter, please encourage them to give us a call.  It is critical to our planning.

Helping the Hungry in Our Area
During March, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Mid-Coast Hunger Prevention Program in Brunswick.  Our goal is 100 food items from each school. Suggestions: canned soups and vegetables, spaghetti sauce, pasta, cereal, etc.  Sorry we cannot take frozen or refrigerated food items, as we do not have the refrigerator space to store them.   This is a project to help children learn about community service and the hunger problem in our communities.
