To ensure that M.S.A.D. 75 meets its legal ( Maine’s Chapter 104) and ethical obligations to students markedly ahead of peers in core academic subjects.
At present, Maine law limits this group to 5% of total enrollment. For this reason, M.S.A.D. 75 typically selects fewer than 2% of students in each core subject. Identification is reviewed annually.
Student needs are defined and matched to each school’s resources through a collaborative planning process. G/T staff are case managers, consultants, advocates, and facilitators of this process.
