Woodside School is a great place to be if you are interested in music, and there are many opportunities for musical participation at all levels. In addition to regular classroom music instruction once a week, fifth and sixth graders can join chorus which meets during the school day,and a band which meets in the morning. This group performs a Holiday and a Spring concert, plus a huge All District concert in May. There is also a band which meets before school, and individual instrumental lessons are offered to students in grades five and six. Fifth graders go to the Portland Symphony every year, and the fourth graders have the opportunity to see a professional opera. There are often small performances given by grade levels during the year which usually integrate with classroom studies. Last, but not least, for the multi-talented student we offer an opportunity to be a part of our variety show and our musical. Come to our concerts and you will see that music is alive and well here at Woodside!
