The PTO meets on the First Thursday of each month at 6:30 at the school, usually in the library. Any and all are welcome and encouraged to attend. Schedule of upcoming meetings:
Welcome!
ATTENTION PARENTS!
YOUR CHILD’S SCHOOL PTO NEEDS YOU!
Hello Fellow Parent,
In keeping with the WHS PTO By-laws, March is the month when we are seeking nominations for the board positions (President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary) for the upcoming school year 2008-2009. In an effort to save trees, the responsibilities of these positions can be viewed by going to the school’s website and reviewing the by-laws. A hard copy can also be provided to you upon request and there is a hard copy available at the school for viewing.
Since there are some of us whose children will be moving on to the Mt. Ararat Middle School (MAMS) next fall, this is a great opportunity for new members to get on board (no pun intended) and learn from those of us who have been organizing, coordinating and planning events for all the children of the WHS over the last 6-7 years. Please keep in mind these positions can be co-chaired so don’t be intimidated or feel it an impossible task to take on one of these positions. In addition, we, the current board are here to assist as well in the transition.
Are you aware of the fact, children of parents who are actively involved in their child’s school activities will do better academically? Joining your child’s school PTO is one way of being involved. If you are interested in serving as a board member or know of someone who might be interested please let us know by April 3rd (next PTO meeting) as these candidates will be voted on at our May meeting. Remember, if we are to keep providing these opportunities (swim programs, field day, field trips, enrichment programs, 5th grade field trip to Plimoth), for our children, we will need your help and input.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with questions and thank you for considering this request.

It is our mission to provide experiences and new opportunities. Together we help our children excel in the world around them.
It is not only a parent or the teacher that creates an environment for our children to thrive, but the collaboration of all of us together.
We share a vision of success for each student. It is our responsibility to provide our children a safe, structured, nurturing place that continues to open their minds and expand their imagination.
Our teachers are extraordinary educators who strive to have a child exceed their own expectations. They see each child as an individual who can grow, learn, and prosper.
Our parents are committed parents. They play a vital role, not only in their own child's accomplishments, but strive to create new opportunities from which all children can benefit.
Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is open to all teachers, parents, and guardians. We will continue to utilize our community resources, and enjoy the benefits of so many knowledgeable people willing to contribute to the growth of our children.
