Counseling

All schools at MSAD 75 have School Counselors or Licensed Clinical Social Workers, or both, on staff.

School Counselors provide students with assistance in academic counseling, post-secondary counseling, and short-term counseling needs. They provide support to students as they transition from elementary, to middle school, to high school, and provide linkage between students/school/family/community to promote collaborative efforts towards common goals

Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) help students with longer-term counseling needs and social supports. LCSWs collaborate with school staff, can make referrals to outside medical or mental health providers, and connect students and families with community resources.

To see a School Counselor or a LCSW, a student can:

  • Make an appointment directly with a staff member
  • Ask a teacher or the main office for help in scheduling an appointment
  • Be referred by friends, parents, or teachers
  • Be referred through a 504 plan or an IEP document
