File: BEDBA – Consent Agenda
The M.S.A.D. No. 75 Board of Directors authorizes the use of a consent agenda to manage its meeting time efficiently.
A consent agenda groups together routine, procedural, informational, and self-explanatory noncontroversial items to enable the Board to approve/consent to the agenda items en masse by a single vote of the Board. Examples of items that may be included in the consent agenda are:
- Approval of minutes
- Acceptance of donations
- Approval of appointments to stipend positions
- Approval of Superintendent nominations to staff positions
- Approval of field trips
- Acknowledgement of resignations
- Acknowledgement of written reports
The Chair, in consultation with the Superintendent, may place items on the consent agenda. The consent agenda will be included as a part of the Board’s full meeting agenda.
Materials associated with the consent agenda will be provided to Board members prior to the meeting and will be made available to the public in the same manner as for other items on the full agenda.
Items can be removed from the consent agenda by timely request of an individual Board member. The request shall not require a second or a vote by the Board. An item removed from the consent agenda will then be discussed and acted upon separately as the next item following the consideration of the consent agenda.
