File: IIB – Guidelines for Class Size & Student:Teacher Ratios
The M.S.A.D. No. 75 Board of Directors recognizes that greater direct teacher contact with students contributes to the educational growth of those students. The Board seeks to balance class size with its ability to finance a higher level of instructional expenditures; therefore the following guidelines are to be applied for typical student:teacher classroom ratios. It should be noted that there will be times when deviation from or adjustment to these ratios may be necessary due to extenuating circumstances.
The Superintendent will provide the Board with data on class sizes and district-wide enrollment no later than November of each year.
The Superintendent of Schools and Board of Directors will review a projection of all incoming enrollments by May 1 of each year.
